PLAYING TO WIN:
Often strategy processes try to control the risk and uncertainty through elaborate and detailed planning – resulting in longwinded, abstract and complex strategy processes that are detrimental to clear choices and goals.
Strategy can be defined and created using a simple framework that entails answering five questions — the same five questions, no matter the type, size or context of the organization:
- What is your winning aspiration?
- Where will you play?
- How will you win?
- What capabilities must be in place?
- What management systems are required?
The answers to these questions are the fundamental choices every leader must make to craft a successful strategy. Make no mistake about it, strategy is choice; it is a set of choices about what you will do, and what you will not do, so as to create advantage over the competition.
Drawing on Roger Martin’s previous work on design and integrative thinking, this event will delve into each of the five questions that make up the framework for successful strategy.
Join us for a day with Roger Martin – share his visions of innovative strategies, gain insight into his most recent work on corporate governance and the emerging talent economy and exchange ideas and challenges with your peers from other leading Australasian companies.
Don’t just play the game. Win it.
