TYRAN PARKE
Tyran Parke is a distinguished Australian director, producer, educator, and former actor, renowned for his transformative impact on the theatre scene. With over two decades of experience, he has garnered critical acclaim for his directorial work across a wide range of genres, from musicals to opera. Parke’s impressive credits include directing major productions such as Follies, Barnum, CHESS, Tick Tick Boom!, Jekyll and Hyde, Rent, and A Chorus Line. His deep devotion to Stephen Sondheim’s work has led to standout productions of Sunday in the Park with George, Assassins, Into the Woods, and Anyone Can Whistle, earning him national recognition.
As a teacher, Parke has worked for all the major training institutions prior to becoming the Head of Music Theatre at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). He is also Artistic Director of his own theatre company, Clovelly Fox. A further Artistic Directorship is that of The Australian Musical Theatre Festival in Tasmania where he has programmed over 150 events and performances over a three year period.
